What are the basic requirements to apply?
To be eligible, you must:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be based in Gauteng
- Have completed Matric between 2020-2024
- Achieve minimum Level 5 (60-69%) in Mathematics and English
- Not be receiving any other government funding
- For PPL2025: Pure Mathematics is specifically required
What documents will I need to upload?
You will need to prepare:
- Certified copy of your ID document
- Latest Matric results or academic transcript
- Proof of residence in Gauteng
What training programs are available?
The following fully funded programs are available:
- Advanced Hour Building (PHB300)
- Basic Initial Cabin Crew Training (BCCT2025)
- Remote Pilot Certificate – Drone Pilot (RPAS2025)
- Private to Commercial Pilot License (PPL2025)
What does the bursary cover?
The NSF Aviation Bursary covers:
- Full tuition fees for your chosen program
- Required learning materials and equipment
- Practical training costs
- Examination fees
- Basic stipend for transport (for eligible candidates)
What happens after I submit my application?
After submission:
- You'll receive a reference number immediately
- You'll be directed to upload required documents
- Applications will be reviewed by the selection committee
- Shortlisted candidates may be called for interviews
- Final results will be communicated by February 7, 2025
